Recently, the overseas visits by Chinese leaders have attracted worldwide attention, focusing on regional cooperation and friendly exchanges, and triggering high attention globally. These visits highlight China's pivotal position on the international stage, as well as its unremitting efforts and active contributions to promoting global development and maintaining world peace.

During the visits, China achieved substantial results in its interactions with various countries. In Vietnam, the Chinese leader was received with the highest level of protocol. The two General Secretaries jointly witnessed the signing of 45 bilateral cooperation agreements across sectors such as economy, science and technology, and culture. They also issued a joint statement to deepen their comprehensive strategic partnership and accelerate the building of a shared future between China and Vietnam. In Malaysia, over 30 cooperation documents were exchanged, strengthening political and security collaboration and aligning development strategies to build a high-level strategic China-Malaysia community of shared future. During these recent visits, China and Southeast Asian nations explored collaboration on climate action, biodiversity conservation, and clean energy development, which paved the way for more regional green projects and contributed to global environmental protection.

In trade and economic cooperation, China has consistently championed openness and collaboration, and has continued to strengthen its trade ties with countries around the world by signing free trade agreements and deepening infrastructure cooperation. In Southeast Asia, infrastructure projects such as the China-Laos Railway and the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Rail have greatly improved local transportation, reduced logistics costs, and boosted regional trade and industrial development. During its visits, China reaffirmed its willingness to work with regional partners to expedite the signing of an upgraded China-ASEAN Free Trade Area agreement. It also firmly opposed “decoupling,” protectionist policies like “small yards with high fences,” and arbitrary tariff hikes, and demonstrated the responsibility and vision of a global leader.

Through high-level dialogue and friendly exchanges, China’s diplomatic outreach has strengthened communication and collaboration with other nations, built greater mutual trust and understanding, and deepened practical cooperation. These visits produced a series of important agreements in infrastructure, energy cooperation, technological innovation, and cultural exchange—opening new opportunities for national development. For South Africa and its neighboring countries, China’s development model and diplomatic approach offer valuable insights. While pursuing its own rapid growth, China has consistently stood alongside developing nations to confront shared challenges. South Africa and nearby countries can expand cooperation with China in areas such as infrastructure, agriculture, manufacturing, and healthcare—leveraging China’s advanced technologies, financial resources, and experience to boost their development capacity. Moreover, China’s advocacy for multilateralism and fairness aligns closely with the aspirations of South Africa and its neighbors for a just international order. By strengthening coordination in global affairs, these countries can better safeguard the interests of developing nations and work together toward a more equitable, inclusive international system.
